MINI TEEN INSTITUTE
December 13, 2004
The Logan Elm High School Teen Institute held a Mini Teen Institute (Mini TI) at
Crossroads Church on Tarlton Road on December 13, 2004. The all-day event began
with group games in the Logan Elm gym and then moved to Crossroads Church. Phil
Williams, the keynote speaker, presented the Sober Truth, which presented the
legal implications around underage consumption of alcohol and shared how
undercover agents secure arrests of those violating the law. Bea Dorman led
activities to build assets, including an asset passport to be completed during
the day. A drawing was held at the end of the day for all those who had
completed passports.
After pizza for lunch, the students attended various break-out sessions
including Healthy Eating, Making Good Decisions, Current Drug and Alcohol
Problems facing Youth, Healthy Relationships with Your Parents, and Life at
College. The day concluded with energizers and a plus/delta evaluation of the
Mini Ti.
Thanks to all who worked hard to make the day a success!
Thanks to all students who participated!
