project pictures
The first project of the Logan Elm Landscaping
Class in 2003 was the construction of a watergarden . The steps taken in the
construction were :
1. Choosing the area, checking the slope , laying out the shape of the
watergarden.
2. Removing the existing pond.
3. Digging a shelf 2 inches deep and 8 inches wide to place the rocks around
the top on.
4. Digging to a depth of 16 inches and making another 8 inch wide shelf to
put plants on.
5. Digging to a depth of 32 inches to ensure the survival of the fish
throughout the winter.
6. Constructing the waterfall by using the dirt which was removed during the
digging of the pond.
7. Smoothing the entire pond area and placing underlayment to prevent the
flexible liner from being punctured.
8. Installing the liner and filling halfway with water.
9. Placing the rocks along the top of the pond and on the waterfall.
10. Completely filling the pond with water.
11. Running an electric line from the house and placing the outlet behind
the waterfall , out of sight.
12. Installing the waterfall pump and hoses.
13. Plugging in the pump and fine tuning.
14. ENJOYING THE SOUND AND LOOK!
