We would like to Welcome Parents, Family and Friends of Logan Elm High School and Junior High Band and Choir Members to the Logan Elm Music Boosters.

We Need Your Help!!!!  The Music Boosters are a great financial support to the Band and Choir to purchase items that are not in the Logan Elm budget. Due to the shortage of funds available to support the music programs in the Logan Elm Schools.  The burden is falling on the Logan Elm Music Boosters for finical support. We also do many things that help the programs that are not financial.

For the 2006/2007 school year the boosters have covered a major part of the cost to keep Music in the schools. Totaling over $30,000, purchasing needed items for the programs.

 Your support is greatly appreciated by the students and staff of the Logan Elm High School, McDowell Middle School Music Department and the Logan Elm Music Boosters!!!!

 

The Logan Elm Music Boosters support all music programs in the High school and Jr. High School. (Choir, Show Choir, Band Concert and Marching, Jr. High Band and Choir). 

 Our meetings are held in the McDowell Band Room the first Tue. of the month from Aug. through May at 7:00.  All are welcome to come and support the programs. There is no cost to be a member of the Logan Elm Music Boosters.

   Help needed !!!!!!!!                   Logan Elm Music Boosters

 

  • Help is need for the Logan Elm home football Games concession stand on the visitor’s side. Contact Robin Baldwin (740) 332-6412.  
  • Cookie share for home football games. This is a hospitality event that both home and visiting band get together and socialize during the 3rd quarter of each game near the visitors Booth.  Parents supply cookies. Contact Debra Elliott (740) 655-2253.
  • The Band will need help in building props for the show see Jim Chickrell and Jim Scott for more information.
  • The Band will need help in the Pit with getting instruments and equipment on and off the field at football games and competitions. Also will need help packing and unpacking the trailer. Tony Dye, Jim Scott (740)-477-1337, Jim Chickrell.
  • The Show Choir will need help with set up and teardown for stage and equipment at performances and help packing and unpacking the trailer. Contact Tony Dye, Jim Scott (740)-477-1337. or Dan Jones.

  • The Logan Elm Music Boosters need your help in running the Pumpkin Cheese Cake Booth (Logan Elm Music Boosters Booth) and Parking in the CVS parking lot at the Pumpkin Show.   • The Logan Elm Music Boosters are selling 200 Club memberships and need to sell all 200 by Dec. 1st. Only 200 memberships will be sold. This fundraisers is a drawing that will give out over $4,825 over the next year to some lucky winners.  Each Membership cost $50.00 with 61 chances to win. 82 cents each. Eligible to win multiple drawings. (52-$50, 4-$125, 3-$250, 2-$500) contact Tony Dye or Jim Scott (740)-477-1337, 

 Logan Elm Music Boosters Myths
don’t let these myths stand in the way of your participation!!

Myth #1: "Music Boosters only support the High School music program."

Fact: We support the Logan Elm music departments Jr. High and High school financially with their music program budget and with other requests when asked. It may appear that we only help the High School because there are more opportunities presented at that level.

Myth #2: "Boosters only support the High School Marching Band."

Fact: We do support the Marching Band, but not exclusively.  However we also support all programs, including the Marching Band. It may appear that we only support the Marching Band at times because many things pertaining to this group are addressed during our meetings at the beginning of the year, and because a very large number of students participate in the Marching Band activity. We support the Choirs and show Choir along with Concert Bands. 

Myth #3: "All of the Boosters decisions are made by the officers or directors."

Fact: You always can give your suggestions to help make programs better and be a part of the decision making process. We need all the help we can get!! The meetings are open to all and you may be part of the voting members at no cost to you. All you need to do is show up at the meetings.

Myth #4: "That some one else will take care of the needs and help”

Fact: The school has a tight budget and without the Music Boosters the music program would not be what it is today. The Boosters are all volunteers and with approximately 400 students in the music programs, junior high and high school we only have 10 to 20 active members at our meetings in supporting the needs. We always welcome new members and helping hands with equipment, uniforms, chaperones, fundraising and helping with special events needs.     

Myth #5: “I can’t afford to be a Music Booster”                   

Fact:  The Music Boosters cost nothing to be a member. Just be at a meeting or work a fundraiser event, register with the Music Booster organization and you can be a voting member.  The Music Boosters work hard to try to keep the cost of being in the music programs as low as possible all students.

Membership:

Section 3.01    Any individual interested in the purposes for which this association is formed shall be eligible for membership.

Section 3.02    A membership list will be composed at the beginning of each school year based on those expressing interest in participating.

Section 3.03    Persons desiring to be members of the music boosters shall register with the executive committee at any time throughout the school year.

Section 3.04    Members shall have attended at least one prior meeting or music booster function before becoming eligible to vote, except for the first meeting of the school year, where any member having registered shall be allowed to vote.

The Logan Elm Boosters are happy to announce a new year for our

"200 Club" membership drive!

 

The "200 Club" is limited to 200 individuals or groups who purchase a membership.  The membership entitles the member to be entered in a total of 63 drawings, which averages less than 82 each!  The drawings include:

*   52 drawings for $50.00

*   4 drawings for $125.00

*   3 drawings for $250.00

*   2 drawings for $500.00 !!!

 

The drawings will be held at each monthly booster meeting, after which the lucky winners will be notified by telephone and/or email.  Every membership number is entered in every drawing.  The winners will be listed on the Logan Elm High School website www.loganelm.net (click on the "music dept." then the "boosters" listings.)  Upon completion of all drawings, the Boosters will provide each member with a complete list of winners for the entire year.

The memberships costs $50.00 each.  The club has the potential to raise $10,000.00.  The first $4,825.00 will be distributed to the lucky winners of the drawings.  Any amount exceeding $4,825.00 will be used by the Logan Elm Music Boosters to continue financial support of the outstanding music programs at Logan Elm.  Any numbers not sold, will be the property of Logan Elm Music Boosters.  If sales do not exceed $5,000.00, Logan Elm Music Boosters reserves the right to refund the membership fees.

At the moment, all numbers from 1-200 are available!  If you would like to purchase your "LUCKY NUMBER", please act quickly!!!
